Europe trip - Brussels, Amsterdam, Hamburg

On x'mas day, i took the flight from Singapore and arrived on 26 Dec at Frankfurt airport around 7.30am (GMT +1) after 15 hours flight (3 hours transit in Dubai). Immediately after i have arrived at Frankfurt airport, drove up to Brussels, Belgium and begin my trip from there.. (dont ask me why i dont fly to Brussels directly. lol)

Day 1 - After 3 hours of driving, finally arrived in Brussels. Check-in and went out for lunch. As the motel is near to city centre,i just need a few minutes walk to the city centre and grand place. It's my first time been to Brussels and the city just blown me away.. After the expensive lunch, i began to stroll along the grand place and walked towards the Christmas market. It's one of the most beautiful X'mas market i have been. Ferris wheel, stalls selling food and ornaments, ice skating field..just without the snow..

Day 2 - Feeling jetlag. woke up early and went to Natural Science Museum to see my all-time favourite exhibit - Dinosaurs!!! Spent about 3 hours there as there were other exhibits like aquarium, insects house, animals, etc.. very worth to pay a visit because of the dinosaurs! lol

To my amaze, it started snowing after i came out of the museum. I'm just elated and taking pictures after pictures after pictures because its my first time witness snowing in my life! Just like other kids, i just open my mouth and let the snow flakes melt inside (like ice ka-chang)..
Next, i head to the Atomium as it was constructed for the Expo 58. The spheres-like structure have different section in each spheres..everything from the 50s era. pretty amazing as the we can see that the retro-style is coming back to our generation again (bright colours, polka dots, plastic). Anyway, the highlight is to take the lift up to the top of the sphere to have a panoramic view of the whole area. As it was still snowing, the whole place was covered in white but still looks awesome to me.

After that, went to Brussels aviation museum to look at all the history of the army and navy of the Belgian and WWII. Its pretty cool place to visit and best of all, its free entrance. There's a waffles van park outside the museum and please grab a piece of waffles topped with chocolate sauce on the way to go because it was so tasty..just Eur 2 and it felt so nice to have a waffles under the snow. Continue the evening by heading back to the grand place and enjoying the light show. Brussels just won my heart and took it away....went to the drag queen bar to end my trip in Brussels.

Day 3 - Pray for the victims when i woke up that morning.. Air Asia flight was missing and crashed on the way from Surabaya to Singapore. Life is so vulnerable and unpredictable.

Anyway, After breakfast, drove another 2 hours to Amsterdam, The Netherlands, the sin city. After checking-in, went out to enjoy the canal view. It has stop snowing in Amsterdam too and we are so lucky to have a clear blue sky on that day. Bought the Amsterdam card so that we can take the public transport for free. Head straight to the canal cruise and enjoy an hour of commentary tour around the canal. Wandering the city and do some sight-seeing in the red light district in the evening. The red light district is jaw dropping for me as an Asian. The girls/ prostitutes will stand in front of the window in their own cabinet in their sexiest bikini and g-string and wink and gestures you to take them. In their own cabinet, you can see the bed and washroom there and they will just soliciting you from the window and once someone went in, they will shut the curtain and begin the action. What a view!

Day 4 - As i'm not a culturally strong person, i skipped the Van Gogh museum and Rijksmuseum because i might probably falling asleep while skimming through the museums. Instead, i went around to the flee market, to every corner of the city, Heineken city and X'mas market to end my day.

Of course, when the night falls, we went to coffee shop to have tea (weed) and red light district again
to have my last glance..lol..oops!

Day 5 - Woke up early again and drove another 5 hours to Hamburg, Germany and spent a day there since it is on the way to Copenhagen, Denmark. After checking-in, went straight to the number 1 must-see sight in trip advisor - Miniatur Wunderland Hamburg. This place is highly recommended by me because the whole place is simply amazing. They have different sections - like Switzerland, Europe, American, Germany, airport, Scandinavian countries and they are on the process of developing Italy miniature. The train will move on the track, the cars and cable car will move as well. It will also turn the day into night and the whole place will lit up. The airport is so cool. The plane will arrive on its own from the clouds and taxi to its arrival gate and the luggage vehicle and the connecting bridge will move in after the plane is ready to disembark. Its also add in a little bit of spice here and there. like dinosaurs appear in the zoo, couple making out in the forest, etc. It's definitely worth spending hours there as i feel that the organisers had put in alot of effort to automate the process and precision engineering of the whole place.
