Let's go to Legoland Malaysia

We decided to head over to Legoland Malaysia which is located at Johor Bahru on 8 April 2016 since both of us were not working on that day. So, we booked with WTS the return coach together with the theme park ticket around S$79 each and off we go!

We went over to Singapore Flyer first to gather at 9.30am and board our coach. As it was Friday morning, the traffic towards Tuas into Johor, Malaysia was very smooth. Within 15minutes, we cleared both immigrations and arrived at Legoland shortly before 12pm.

There are basically two major theme parks - water park or Legoland. We chose the Legoland as we only have a day. Inside Legoland, there are a few theme parks like Starwars, imagination, lego technic, Lego kingdom, etc.. The Legoland was basically empty. It was pretty small and mostly unsheltered. Just need to bear with the heat!

Firstly, We head off to skim Starwars exhibits. Both of us obviously not a Starwars fans. Then, went over the the kids roller coaster to get some thrill! Before lunch, we went to Imagination for the observation tower which has the panorama view of the whole theme park! Had a kids lunch set consist of baked pasta, soup and Ribena at RM 18 (S$6). Next up, went to see the 4D show (new attraction)..

The highlight of the day was to take the
Waterboat slides at Dino island. We were all drenched!! It's cool the Jin Mei was game enough to take the thrilling ride with me! Anyway, we were soaking wet and still continue to roam around the theme park! We sat down again for quick bite before heading to lost kingdom to test our shooting skills!

As I was limping due to my feet injury, we took the tuk tuk Lego train to see all the sights in the theme park! It was nice just to rest our feets and hide from the heat!

Last stop of the day was the miniland! It was a miniature of some iconic buildings or places made of Lego! Some like Great Wall of china and forbidden city, Brunei mosque, Singapore city, Angkor Wat Cambodia and many more!! It was just fascinating to see all these made of bricks! Very interesting and really worth the visit!

There are a lot more but they are mostly for kids.. So, big kids like us do not really have a lot of options in the theme park!
As our coach only scheduled at 5.15pm, we finished the theme park around 3.30pm! We went around the gift shops and there is even a shopping arcade outside the theme park! Mostly food and beverages and convenience shops to get my tea and tiger balm oil for my limping feet! Lol.

Melbourne, Australia

After I got my bonus in Jan this year, I decided to book Melbourne trip for my Easter holiday! I'm crazy I know. Just addictive to traveling! Lol.. So, booked the Emirates flight and off I go to Melbourne!

After my work on 24/3 (Thurs), rushed home to get my luggage and head straight to the airport to catch my flight at 10.30pm. It's my luck that my flight always get delayed. My flight finally took off after 11.30pm.

25/3 - Good Friday! After 7 hours flight with 3 hours of sleep, I finally arrived at Melbourne airport. The weather was perfect! 13-20 degree celcius. Check in to my friend's place, went for McDonald's drive through to pack our lunch and headed straight to Phillip Island!! As it was a long weekend in the country, we experienced huge traffic jams and finally arrived at Phillip Island after 2 hours of driving.

First stop, koala conservation Centre. Do u know that female koala took around 41-43 days to give birth to their young? It's quite amusing and the baby is called Joey and it's about 2cm and looks like a pink jellybean, blind, hairless and no ears..it's how amazing how their mum feeds them and grow up to be so adorable.. Pay a visit to understand more! The conservation consist of 3 sections, 2 koala boardwalks where we can see the koala either sleeping or munching the eucalyptus and the woodland Boardwalk allows you to see wallaby and maybe snakes if you are lucky.

Second stop, Churchill farm where the Sheeps, cows, roosters, horses and ducks live. There were also old farmhouse and cottages to showcase the past lives of Australian settlers and farming practices. Pretty interesting. It closes around 5pm and we only had 30mins to glance through everything.

The highlight and last stop of the day was the little penguins marching parade. There are a few options like general viewing, underground viewing or up close viewing. As we booked our tickets late, we only managed to grab the general viewing. So, we grabbed our seats along the coast and waited patiently for an hour. The little penguins will waddle on the shore around 8pm when the sky is dark and they arrived in groups. No photographs and videos are allowed as not to alarm the little penguins as well as protecting the wildlife. I'm glad to witness the marching parade of the little penguins and i highly recommend this activity as your itinerary! The little penguins will then waddle into the forest to find food and shelter where we can watch them along the sidewalk on the way back to the entrance.. After 2 hours of driving back home and I'm so exhausted!

26/3 - woke up around 9am the next day, grabbed McDonald's breakfast from drive through again and headed to the west. Driving along Great Ocean Road. Passing through scenic coastal, deserted beaches and national parks. After 3.5hours of driving, finally arrived at Apollo bay to grab our lunch. Had a burger for lunch and continue to drive another hour to twelve apostles. Finally arrived at twelve apostles around 5pm. Managed to catch them during daylight before it turns dark! The view of twelve apostles were breathtaking. The limestones stacks off the shore. It was just spectacular looking over the ocean with the limestones..The work of Mother Nature. I wish I have more time there but it was so crowded..another 4 hours drive home..

27/3 - Easter Sunday! Another early morning! Woke up around 9am again. This time, heads off to Healsville sanctuary. It takes another 2 hours driving again! This is a zoo which house all the Australian animals like koala, kangaroo, emu, platypus and of course Tasmania devil! Spent 2 hours wandering around the zoo. Very interesting places to learn more about the Australian animals which we don't usually see in Singapore Zoo.

After the zoo, went over to chapel street where you can find latest fashion trend, cool cafes and maybe Hollywood stars strolling along the street. Melbourne is all about coffee culture. Had a latte there, laid back and relax after 3 days of intensive driving. Drove over to St Kilda where there are St Kilda beach, luna park, Palais theater, etc. We bought fish and chips and had our dinner at St Kilda beach. Chit chatting, laughing, eating the food, looking at the beach, avoiding he seagulls from stealing our food and just people watching. I guess this is the life that everyone admire. After that, went over to St Kilda breakwater where we can see little penguins for free! Similarly, the little penguins will waddle to the shore every night for shelter and food! Managed to catch some glimpse of little penguins hiding in between the rocks even before sunset. Lastly, driving around the St Kilda  and overlooking Melbourne Ferris wheel and the night view of the city.. Amazing!

28/3 - It was my last day in Melbourne. Went into the city by train. Had brunch at Melbourne central shopping centre. Did some window shopping but didn't managed to buy anything! Not forgetting, had latte in one of the Melbourne city alley. Did some grocery shopping instead!  Took a train home and ready to head to airport to catch my flight at 7pm. This trip was amazing. Melbourne has so much to offer! I love the coffee culture, the trendy city, the weather and the food! No wonder it's the most liveable city in the world! Thanks to my driving friends which make my trip possible! I will be back!
